Caleb One Month Old

Last week i had the opportunity to attend a baby shower (not really shower larh but probably means the same thing) of Deacon Lim's little son named Caleb. He is such an adorable boy he covered his ears while sleeping because we all uncle aunties are making too much of a noise.. SOO cute!!!

as time went on sooo many ppl brought their little toddlers along to the baby shower and it was very happening indeed. Only posted some picture because as enthusiastic as i am about taking pics, i'm still as lazy as ever to go wait for it to upload *since i've already uploaded it in one million other websites*.

But overall it was a very busy day last Sunday. And as i'm posting this, just out of a sudden random rant, i think Singapore is experiencing equatorial style winter today. it may not be winter tomorrow but today sure is super cold. island wide raining for the whole morning + afternoon + evening. weather's gone wonky.

anyways, here are some pics.

The mums/mums-2-b taking pics with the star of the day. He just keeps on sleeping and sleeping and sleeping... like me!

not to forget, we also have another little boy who turned 16 months? normally when he's in church in the cry room, he's not as active as he was that day so seizing this golden opportunity i snapped some shots of him :) btw he just learned the cute 'O-ohhh'! haha

and here's my favourite picture of the day, which was taken earlier that day when we sat down to have a sip in the hot weather. Hot?! yar.. it was summer on sunday, winter on monday. i'm surprised our body dont fall sick from it..

High Dynamic Range Imaging

To be honest, when i first heard HDR it has nothing to do with photography. or digital imaging. it had to do with games. Yes and until today, the most realistic games like Crysis and Far Cry 2 uses HDRI in their graphics engine to create that kind of surreal environment that you see in games.

And after reading some chunks of material on the net (i thought i was damn difficult to do), i decided to try it out myself. yes i know i look like i'm damn free but it's all well planned ok. i'm preparing myself for the aussie trip so i can shoot nice pics over there, IF i get to borrow the SLR over...

Anyways, during my orchard trip as some of you might have seen on facebook, i managed to take some pictures of the supreme court and some skyline using the auto exposure bracketing feature of the camera to get 3 pictures with 3 different exposures together. Merge them in photoshop and walla! here are some pics.. click to enlarge it is damn sharp.

This is the old supreme court of Singapore.. which in my honest opinion, looks much nicer than the stupid new disc structure. That's why i didnt even bother taking its picture tho it's just next door..

The skyline of Singapore as seen from clarke quay. the HDR makes it almost surreal, emphasizing the dramatic sky and saturating the color so vivid it looks like a painting. i hope to catch the opera house in action during my trip.. HAHA.. !!

there you go. HDR makes up wonderful images tho i think that i still have loads to learn as an amateur..

The Power of RAW!

Since bitten by that bug, i've been taking some pics here and there. As we all know, digital imaging software is also progressing by the light years together with the cameras that are produced. To be honest, even with all that geekiness in me, i dont really play with photoshop or paintshop pro or wadsoeva. Yes i did play with them quite some time ago (proof of my geekiness) but i never really liked them because

1) Their program is laggy and huge AND COMPLICATED.
2) I'm too lazy.
3) My picture look worse than when it is unedited. Which is usually the case for me and it has been sceptical for me since i touched those program.

So since i was bitten by that bug now, i figured i shall just check out what they do normally to make pictures look nicer.. they say that curiosity kills the cat.. BUT i'm not a cat... at the very max, i can only be a mosquito due to my name but not a cat.. so curiosity crept in. And lo and behold, i discovered something called the RAW format. how noob of me.

Here is a picture of a pretty girl in a nicely diffused background with nice colours and all. Normally i would just look at it and go, wow! quite a nice picture.. but then if it is blown up to quite a bigger size, things would be different. and from my crappy experience with digital imaging, this would probably be the best image that the camera can produce and any altering will lead to grains, noise and those ugly stuff that makes your picture worse.

So after reading a bunch of material regarding histograms, tonal range and blah blah blah, i decided to try it out myself by shooting RAW formats on the SLR. They always say that RAW can preserve this larh, that larh and result in lossless color correction etc etc. i always take them with a pinch of salt because my eyes tell me that JPEG looks as good as the RAW that i shoot when i look into the LCD. And if i do anything to the image on processing, things will go wrong..

Initially when i blow up the picture in my screen it really does look a tad uninspiring. When it is still small like above it can look quite alrite and acceptable but when blown to about 5R size there's a distinct warmish color cast and the whole picture just look flat. So after tweaking with the white balance, tonal range and the exposure, together with some curves adjustments, i got the shock of my life...

I couldnt believe my eyes actually until i click another button to compare them both... well in my honest (even though noob) opinion i really think the latter picture looks more striking in colors, and with better contrast and exposure. so THAT is how RAW format can do. and there you have it.. even a noob photographer like me can do something like that without using photoshop.. just some basic color correction and exposure adjustments... how cool is that..

Singapore Student Kills Self After Stabbing Professor

Suddenly, it seems like there's a lot of interesting news in sunny Singapore. More relevantly, the student involved is an Indo in NTU who, i presume, got fedup with his prof and decided to pull a stunt on him..

Btw the picture above is from a series of bunny suicide comics by Andy Riley which is morbidly hilarious..

How Ridiculous Can It Be?!

To be struck by lightning in the midst of all those tall buildings?! The Merlion sure is suay...

Photography Bug

They call it the photography bug..  when i was young, there was something called the film camera. the SLR for film is smaller, lighter and less complicated BUT the films costs a hell lot. And you cant see what you've taken..

so for that simple reason, i cant afford to buy any camera. or any film for that matter. until one day this thing call digital camera popped out. so i promptly *actually i got it much later* got myself a small little camera the size of my wallet. at first it was quite fun pointing and shooting here and there. but then, when i got to travel a bit more it kinda disappointed me coz the pics doesnt turn out the way i want it to.. and i was too lazy to find out how to make it turn out i want it to..

well, up until last year when i got to try something bigger. it was scepticism at first coz 1) i've never used one before. 2) it probably will just produce that sort of dull flat pictures even with the perfect angle and so on..

ah ha! that's when i was quite a bit surprised because of how nice the pics turn out when photographed in indoor lighting. that sparked off something so after a few months later, i figured that i'd go online and read a bit about aperture and shutter speed. which is not a good idea because this bug is now bugging me like mad.

Just nice that my dear fren has his SLR on the free, because of busy FYP (ah ha!) and stuff so i got to borrow it for a while to take some pics.. which is also not a good idea because now the bug's growing bigger.

oh well, i shall just take some nice pics *in my opinion* from now and post some if i've got the time... haha!

p/s: btw if you havent noticed, the blog skin has changed... with the help of some tips and tricks online... i will tune it a bit more on the days to come so stay posted =D and go download this if you havent to see the nice fonts!!

More Work?? Off i go then...

Alrite.. as some might have noticed, it's so hard to maintain a blog.. coz i m just pure plain lazy and sometimes typing out everything seems like a chore to me as well...

but just some updates if you're still reading my blog!! haha.. i'm working now, doing my attachment at this company call BD. no it doesnt stand for backdoor but u can just google it and u'll find it for sure.

anyways, since i'm working, i've involved myself in something rather interesting lately... since last december when i went to the mission trip.. oh ya, i never update about the mission trip.. but yar just briefly, the mission trip to Senai was last Dec and i got to play with some cool SLRs so i kinda condemned those little pin hole cameras to eternal damnation.. that is why i also stopped taking pictures actively with my cam coz it turns out.. well.. not that nice..

anyways, the whole point is.. i've built myself some gundams, and i've taken some pics of it with an SLR.. marriage of 2 hobby if u'd say so... and thus i'm here to post some pics again.. haha

mind you, it looks like quite simple actually it took me more than 1 week just to trim the nip marks of the gundam, sand it down, remove lines, paint, assemble, go over with top coat and finally taking the pics...

still looks amateur.. oh well.. i'm still learning..

Dear Blog,

Yes i know i havent update in ages, and today, because my heart and blood is in high tide, i shall come out from my hermit shell and do some ranting on this old space in the internet, so as to entertain or to humor some who still visits the blog.

I have been working. Hard. in a forsaken land call Tuas because i have to wake up 6 am everyday. YES. it is 6 am because my work starts at 745 am, which is blardy early if you ask me but then, there's no jam and i end at 445 pm. :D which is a plus.

so far i've been into about 2 weeks of my attachment and everything is still quite smooth, with minimal hiccups. due to some coincidences and some accidences, i've managed to get 2 evening modules as well, which means that this semester isnt going to be as sweet as i'd imagined.  which is a good thing, considering i'd have to take 6 CORE MODULES AGAIN !@#%!$% if i dun take the evening mods this sem.

sometimes i really wonder what on earth am i studying for because when i'm at attachment, i realise i'm not studying a single thing of what those engineers are doing there. :S not good eh, considering i'm working my ass off in school and coming out having to start all over again. but oh well, that's life sometimes... like a box of chocolates. you never know what you'll get

understandbly, i havent got time to do anything else other than coming back from work and sleep early and strangely, blog now. \^o.o^/ hmm weird.

but anyways, i'm ending at 19th June. (see, have to begin with an end in mind) which means, that i will be just in time for an aussie trip from 24th June to somewhere in July. YAY! sooooo, tata ppl, have a nice sem mugging!

MY BLOG IS DYING

Because i'm just pure plain lazy to update even though i've finished exam since MONDAY. YES PEOPLE I HAVE SUCCESSFULLY CLEARED A SIX CORE MODULE SEM!

it is, up until now, the most worrying and traumatising sem i ever had and boy am i glad that i'm going for attachment next sem. Alrite, attachment is not a holiday... maybe i might even miss studying. YEAH RITE. not for now i wont!

i'm just ranting because i've been out since morning 8 o clock until about 11pm and i've just cleared a big business by the loo. yeap when exam's over, you have all the time in the world to rant.

Gundam 00 End Song

It's very nice.. and here's the lyrics lol:

Friends by Stephanie

You had on the same smile
Even though the years have piled upon us
Impatient, we ignore the scenery passing by

Throw away your useless pride
Show kindness to the world

I gotta say
Even if we put on a courageous facade
We cannot live alone
The promise you made that day
Remains deep within my heart Even now

Partings and meetings
Finding light walking down new roads
Since the day we were born
This repetition has linked us together

When did you and I
Acquire such differing futures?

I gotta say
Even if we're far apart and never meet again
There is a strong bond between us
"Let my dreams come true"
I pray from the bottom of my heart
We're friends forever
Let's pledge to meet again
Swear on it
We're going to walk forward
Toward an unseen destination
Even if we're lost
We'll continue
No matter what

Amid the changing seasons
And the flow of time
Familiar melodies
Even when we grow old
They won't fade away
Our precious memories

I gotta say
Even if we put on a courageous facade
We cannot live alone
The promise you made that day
Remains deep within my heart

As life goes on...
Because we mustn't forget Yeah
Don't let it go...

This wide world or the people you hold dear

YES WE CAN!

Well, it's a 'great journey ahead' for Mr Obama as he takes on the top job as the leader of the 'free world'. I must say, he did surmont quite a challenging task, outvoting the first female presidential candidate from his own party, then outlasting a seemingly more experienced candidate from the opposing party.

Seriously, am i guy so interested in politics? actually no. maybe i'm just groomed that way since young - look at my own country's politics and you'd know why. so here's the latest parody, which out of all that i've watched concerning Mr Obama, is the funniest of all time.

About Last Night. only on south park.

Gundam 00

Alrite. i have to admit that i'm not much of a gundam fan really. dont worry if you are not because i understand why. It is just pure plain boring if you watch them like halfway or something. Unlike those cool-like-shit robot cartoons u get when u were around 6-7 years old, there's a lot of talking and less fighting in the gundam animes.

Until now. or maybe coz i've grown up coz Gundam 00 really does look like they kick ass. Alrite, another short history lesson. Gundam, where they might look similar in all the cartoons, are discontinuous - meaning each series is independent and not connected, much like final fantasy games where all of them have similar features but each of them are immersed in a totally different world altogether (japanese have a fetish for this kinda thing).

So Gundam 00 is another series by itself and surprisingly, it has got a very matured theme unlike the rest of the anime that i'm catching. Political issues, racial and religion wars etc something which are happening in our world now. That's why it's very interesting. the first few episodes are quite standardly boring with more talks than fights but after a while, it really gets going and yeap, one of the more interesting shows i've catched this year :)

I'M SO STARTLED!!!

actually, i think south park really is the most entertaining cartoon on earth.

alrite, maybe not to kids that is..

Amazing Grace

Was in the midst of preparing for a lot of things - projects, lab reports, practices, meetings, and sharings but sometimes it's through the songs that He has wrote through human hands that brings us back, and give us the sense of direction in the midst of chaos.

Was choosing songs just now and just sang the Amazing Grace for CG, which was really something very simple, but yet so deep in meaning...

'i once was lost, but now am found, was blind but now i see...'

Dream Dream Dream

Love it when a lovely song cross my mind and i just have to put it here. it's a very old song but that's what makes it so nice :)

When I want you in my arms
When I want you and all your charms
Whenever I want you, all I have to do is dream
Dream, dream, dream
When I feel blue in the night
And I want you to hold me tight
Whenever I want you, all I have to do is dream

I can make you mine, taste your lips of wine
Anytime night or day
Only trouble is, gee whiz
I'm dreamin' my life away

I need you so that I could die
I love you so and that is why
Whenever I want you, all I have to do is dream
Dream, dream, dream, dream
Dream, dream
Whenever I want you, all I have to do is dream

I need you so that I could die
I love you so and that is why
Whenever I want you, all I have to do is dream
Dream, dream, dream, dream
Dream, dream
Whenever I want you, all I have to do is dream

Dream, dream, dream
Dream

BORED. from. MUGGING.

was reading the notes for my upcoming mid terms and realises something which really jolted me up:

"If (pmE)/(kT) is small
==> alpha is small, i.e. (pmE)/(kT) is small!" (Dielectric and Magnetic Properties, 2008)

It is not taken out of context, merely an exact phrase by itself in the notes. Sometimes i wonder am i doing engineering or am i doing philosophy.

"Do you believe me??? why you dont believe me???"

Updates

it's been very boring these few days - mugging, eating, sleeping, more mugging etc... and tmr's my first mid term paper, which i'm totally not fond of...

apparently after an in depth analysis, we found out that our lecturer whose test i will be doing tomorrow actually kinda suffers from insecurity problems. he doesnt really explain the question properly but just keep asking us:

"do you believe me???? "

"no.." (i'm not joking.. a class mate answered this)

"why you dont believe me???"

"maybe it shud have been xxyyzzxxyyzz..."

"no no you're WRONG. you're WRONG. you have to do more readings... why you dont believe me???"

I'm actually not kidding and it goes on and on.. and tmr i'm taking his test. great.

O Happy Day :)

As i've already mentioned yesterday, it was a happy day and that's because yesterday was our anniversary!!! yeap yeap first year already lo :) was a day full of surprises and so i'm here to do a quick lil update on what went on :)

Went to pick Ms Pretty up during noon time and we headed off to lunch at the town area, eating our favorite subway and drinking coffee. after which we bought 2 tix for mama mia, which in my opinion is a really good show! ABBA is really good and those who like music and greece (no particular connection) should watch the show :)

After that, we went to collect some "stuff" from a certain project friend of mine who was at Cathay waiting for me. Apparently, Ms Pretty wasnt very happy about it :(

BUTTTTT!!! it turned out to be a nice planned surprise where Mr Loh was waiting for me at Cathay with guitar at hand. SO i played her a song right outside Cathay and gave her a lil present which would not be disclosed here in the blog. HAHA and sulk no more Ms Pretty became.

After which we went on to Shokudo beneath Raffles City which serves Japanese food a la Marche style and my my, it's really good food to the maxxxxx. Doesnt come cheap tho but it was well worth it :)

Managed to send Ms Pretty home and walaa!!! WHAT a day!! :) enjoy the pics :)

Ms Pretty with me outside Cathay where i played her a song :)

One of the many delicious dishes from Shokudo, in this case the Jap omelette

Ms Pretty showcasing for the Jap pizza with eel and asparagus :) yummy!

Random shots :)

BLEAH :P

Favorite shot of the day :)

1 year lo! time passed so fast :)

Happy bouquet of flower

P/S once again many many thanks to Mr Loh for bringing down the guitar and for Ms Yap who lend me the guitar, even though both dont read my blog :D

MID SEM BREAK

is not a break at all. here's a song that's been ringing in my mind. i know it's a very verrrryyy old song but it's really sweet :)

I could stay awake just to hear you breathing
Watch you smile while you are sleeping
While youre far away dreaming
I could spend my life in this sweet surrender
I could stay lost in this moment forever
Every moment spent with you is a moment I treasure

Dont want to close my eyes
I dont want to fall asleep
Cause Id miss you baby
And I dont want to miss a thing
Cause even when I dream of you
The sweetest dream will never do
Id still miss you baby
And I dont want to miss a thing

Lying close to you feeling your heart beating
And Im wondering what youre dreaming
Wondering if its me youre seeing
Then I kiss your eyes
And thank God were together
I just want to stay with you in this moment forever
Forever and ever

Dont want to close my eyes
I dont want to fall asleep
Cause Id miss you baby
And I dont want to miss a thing
Cause even when I dream of you
The sweetest dream will never do
Id still miss you baby
And I dont want to miss a thing

I dont want to miss one smile
I dont want to miss one kiss
I just want to be with you
Right here with you, just like this
I just want to hold you close
Feel your heart so close to mine
And just stay here in this moment
For all the rest of time

Dont want to close my eyes
I dont want to fall asleep
Cause Id miss you baby
And I dont want to miss a thing
Cause even when I dream of you
The sweetest dream will never do
Id still miss you baby
And I dont want to miss a thing

Dont want to close my eyes
I dont want to fall asleep
I dont want to miss a thing

Sept 16

2 things are happening.

first things first. Will Malaysia, after about 5 decades of governing under the BN, be defected to the opposition under Mr Ibrahim? As the book of wisdom says, there's a time for everything. SO! let history take its course.

SECOND. which in my opinion is well, concerns me more (at least in the short term). Crysis Warhead is coming out.

Gold

That's what i did today - beginners in alchemy or rather known as the module AL1001.

Step 1: put the glass slides in a beaker of alcohol, then place them in the sonicator to clean them for 15 min.

Step 2: careful dry the glass slides and label them appropriately

Step 3: Put them into the gold sputtering machine, and operate it with the push of a few buttons.

Step 4: VOILA! your glass slides has turned into gold pieces!

i really felt like this guy when i did the experiment today though... with all the buttons...

Google Chrome

Yeap there's a new kid in town call Google Chrome - BROWSER. yes it's entering a titan-filled competition with firefox and ie leading the pack. Google is really taking over the world with all their chio and mac-like application compared to well, windows.

i'm using it right now and well, you can find out more about it here if u want.. it's quite cool!! HAHA...

Life's getting busy with TGIO coming up and all the gigs and not mentioning CG stuff and sharing... PLUS ohh! i have to study... things arent getting easier in 3rd year... sian-ness.. especially if u have roaches visiting you once in a while...

talking about roaches, yesterday as i was lying on the bed, talking to grace on the phone i noticed something black-like moving on the top of the cupboard. it wasnt fast, just well, sort of hidden. to my horror, it's a roach camping there like nobody's business.

realising it's presence, i quickly armed myself with the shieldtox rapidkill (yes i bought it for this purpose) and took aim, then sprayed right into its path. it squirmed into the cupboard coz i guess it wasnt air tight when it's closed... luckily, it was a store of my boxes so i quickly open the cupboard, sprayed a good deal into it and closed it again.

goodness gracious i thought i'll have a hard time collecting the corpse but to my surprise, it came jumping down and squirming on the floor just after well, 10 seconds.. *splat* and it's done.. dont wish to have more of them coming into my room but looks like it's inevitable since my room's the nearest to the kitchen...

Inspiration

To go on blogging that is. Lately, there has been none and frankly i think things are getting tougher by the year. with 9-hour lab week creeping up ur back, and endless tutorials and lectures pouring in and a business plan which is going nowhere, this seems like a sucky sem to me.

lately i've been kinda sick too, cough this and that... but i guess that's just the mindtrick weather that we have here in dear Singapore. It was sunny like hell in the morning the other day and the next thing you know, rain's pouring down with no reserve. just after half an hour, the sun's out again and it is still raining. well, if that doesnt make u catch ur cold, i dont know what does...

i've just missed the 3rd lecture of the sem. and counting. i hope i can catch up. sobs.

Staying Alive Staying Alive

yeap it sure is hard to stay alive with the lazy bug in me every day... actually a lot of things are happening / has happened around me but i'm just pure plain lazy to blog about it.. HAHA

there was hmm... senior's performance, hall bash, orientation, ibg... and oh gosh, how could i forget, the Olympics. To be really honest, i think Beijing really did a fantastic job this time round. It's kinda hard to imagine how Britain is going to catch up with this year's game in 2012.

It's also particularly brilliant that this year, there seems to be more extraordinary things happening - Phelps with his 8 golds, Bolt with his 9.69 slacker run. He could've ran 9.55 if he pushed on til the end and i only hoped that he's not on drugs... Finally, Jamaica is giving US a run for their money. For the past few olympics that happened in my short 22 lifespan, US has been dominating the track scene but now things have changed. In that past few olympics, US and Russia has been dominating the medal table, but that has changed too...

Alrite, enough with the games but just one last comment.. i was shocked to see BMX cycles running funny wavey tracks as an Olympic sport.. and squash is not?! hmm...

Oh well, going off for another gig at Munchie Monkeys..

1 YEAR PLUS!

in the midst of my busy schedule, i've forgotten that actually, i've been blogging for a year and more!!! that's despite some very cold months with about 1 - 2 posts per month but i would say that this is some progress that i've been making!! HAHA

i didnt use to blog for so long coz i'm just pure plain lazy but oh well, sometimes it's good to rant and chant on the internet for everybody to see once in a while.. mainly, i've been updating movies and games critics but very little of my life.. well, that's because... ehhmmm.. it's private.. and mainly because i'm just pure plain lazy..

The Dark Knight

Gone were the days when Batman wears a greyish rubber suit with his faithful companion in a colourful red-green-yellow costume. over the last few years superheroes movie and most of the good movies seems to stem from comics. well other than Hancock, which was well... hmm i shant say more. The last Batman movie was really good with depth and darkness, all that a batman show should have. this one is even better. particularly with another one of my favourites: the joker. i remembered watching the first joker on screen about more than a decade ago. it's nothing like what i've just seen and yeah, the joker shows you that you dont need effects to be a good actor. one of the best shows this year that i've watched. 9/10

Red Cliff

Watching 2 movies in a week is something which i only did in holidays, which is like now... so let's hear it from the first one: it's been quite a while since they released an epic chinese movie and frankly, this film on one small part of the Han Dynasty will be one of the best that i've watched. heck i dont really know much about romance of the three kingdoms but this show sure inspired me to read more. sorry to those who're outside of asia it will only be released in 2009! overall it's a great film with cheem chinese and my personal favourite: mr guanyu with his green dragon crescent blade. 8/10 oh yar, the show is about the battle of red cliff. how could i forget that HAHA.

Devil May Cry 4

To say that this game is good, well it will really underrated. personally, as a fan of role-playing games (FFX, Mass Effect, KOTOR just to name a few) and also a fan of fighting games (KOF, Street Fighter 1-3) , this game has incredibly fused this 2 together as a serious kinda hack and slash. Yeah it doesnt really have much of a RPG kinda build since it is almost entirely linear, the combat is just soooooooooooooo sweet. Mind you, it is not easy to play as i'm still trying to master certain skill but the tremendous satisfaction that it gives when you can execute let say, a High Roller + 2 aerial rave + jump cancel + devil snatch + 2 more aerial rave + devil trigger + devil snatch + 2 more aerial rave and a final buster in a matter of seconds, it really pumps adrenaline into your hands and well, gives u kinda like a good exercise. I've never written such a long review on games before simply because i enjoyed this game a lot. and how i thank God that it came out before school starts. 10/10

Hellboy 2

Yeah he sure is a redneck if u tell me. i've never heard of him before, even in comics and stuff. the only time i heard him before this is hellboy one, which kinda suck according to a lot of reviews. well, i guess this is one helluva rare sequel which is better than the original show. at least they didnt outdo their own failure *which in my opinion is the classic line for avp and avp2*. overall it's quite an entertaining show. 8/10

The Journey

well i started out long time ago, holding on to a slab of wood in the shape of a trident. how old was i? ahh... about 12 years old then. when i got the first solid body baby, i was about 15... hmm that seems kinda far away.. still remember the lake placid blue and one small flaw in it - the E string will always get tangled up at the edge of the fingerboard if you strung too hard.

i remember having lots of complaints about it - doesnt sound right, doesnt feel right and heck it just seems so common. i mean, which guy out there doesnt have an electric guit that looks like mine. and it wasnt an original strat to start with. so after a long consideration, i sold it and acquired something more exotic. les paul to be exact, and for a moment in history, i was in love with it.

as people grow, they change. so do i and when an opportunity arises for me, i've decided to get something for good - the tele. well it still pains me everytime i think of the lost now. she's really like the elegant lady who struts across in tremendous fashion and sings to you like nothing you've heard before.

but is she something for me? perhaps when she was taken away, there's a greater lesson to be taught - that something so grand may not be something which is suitable. it's like a ferrari. good to see, nice to play with, red. but i'll never get it, even if i've the money. HAHA.

you know i've heard many people say. at the end of the day, nothing beats the good ol strat. i used to think that it was just a stereotype. what possibly can a strat do. MAN i've owned one before. lake placid blue. rosewood neck. strings get stuck when you strung too hard. but i guess sometimes things just happened in a humorous way.

now that i've decided to get one at the end of the day just proved to myself that sometimes the best things are always around. you just need to know how to appreciate them.

Hancock

There are heroes... there are superheroes... and then, there's Hancock Will Smith. Seriously, if not for the comedian, together with a Charlize Theron, the 'han' would have been replaced with a 'dumb'. was a tad disappointed by the film, since it looks really kinda cool from the trailers and all but well, these kinda things happen.. so if ya wanna catch something slightly funny, slightly serious, slightly nonsense then this is the film for you :D 3.5/10

Diablo III

The picture alone is enough to excite any self-respecting computer user who grew up in the 1990s. if it doesnt, it means you didnt use the computer enough, or you were born a tad too late... MAN! this has to be the game to play. THE GAME.

which of course, according to blizzard tradition, will release in a few more years time. sad.

Verse of the Day

"Do not be yoked together with the unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness? What harmony is there between Christ and Belial? What does a believer have in common with an unbeliever?"

Just a few thoughts today when i read the Bible. Sometimes our judgment may be clouded by many things, but let God be our guide in all things to come.

21

Have been catching films like nuts lately and yeah, this is another one of the very nice shows which i've watched yesterday, but was quite stunned when someone asked me about its genre. hmm.. it's not thrill.. it's not action.. heck it's not romance... more like just an exciting story with good plot. 9/10

Mass Effect

When it launched, it was bogged down with a lot of controversies, especially the one where Singapore decided to banned it for a few weeks before releasing the ban due to an optional sex scene in the game. It has truly showed us how video game has progressed from merely super mario happy go lucky type to these rich, role playing type which almost appear to be a universal movie when you play it.

i suppose we need to exercise discretion for all the entertaintment that we enjoy from, whether is it playing WOW, watching movies or even listening to songs. addiction is always dangerous and harmful i suppose, and it is something that will give someone a nolife tag, which is what most WOW gamers have under their title.

sooo.. back to the game, story's great with rich civilisation and all those spacefaring jargons. really a very rich and diverse game. i'd definitely give it a 9/10.

Wanted

Havent been updating reviews on movies. well that's coz i havent been watching many and so this is one of the more exciting shows that i've caught recently... Quite exciting i must say, and worth the time to go and watch.. maybe they got the formula right - cars, woman, action, bending bullets and a twist. be warned tho, i think that if a girl go and watch this she might find it a little tad boring. HAHA. 8.5/10

Most Irritating Thing

is when u realised that you're down and u want to express urself through music.. and u find that your guitar is stolen by that guy and u dont have the baby that you wish you have...

it's a vicious cycle. you just get more and more down.

Time FLIES

You have absolutely no idea what can actually happen in such a short time. Yes i'm quite surprised myself..

my grandma passed away
my exams are over
d block was on fire (i am serious. and i'm not talking figuratively) a couple of days ago
i have to shift due to the fire
my guitars were stolen by a cleaner
the police broke him down and
i'm waiting for the police call...

sometimes i feel that too drama is not actually a good thing. it's tiring.

Reunion

As they say, time flies like arrows, and fruit flies like bananna. Alrite, jokes aside, it's been quite a while since i've met up with just my own immediate family. Sounds funny rite? but to tell the truth, we didnt have dinner with just the 4 of us, for at least a good 7 years or so now. So those who are reading this and u have dinner with ur kor kor or zeh zeh or mummy and daddy all the time at home, u shud be grateful... HA HA..

But it was a good weekend, despite not really feeling great when i go back coz grandma is not doing well lately.. but i'm still glad to have seen her and i think she was more than happy that we came back to visit her.

well... there are things which will happen no matter what. Death is one of them and i wouldnt want to deny that.. At least she has her answer to eternity and that's all that i'm glad for.

Dancing

Alrite... much to say, i'm not really a dance person even though i did join RAG dance and we won... well uh.. it was just not me to spend many hours tolling my body to dance well. i'd rather move my fingers over the fretboard well into the night if i have to do it....

BUT... the video really rocks.. and if u have time, u shud go and check out these guys.

April Fool's Day

Yes a lot of ppl laugh when they know when's my birthday... i used to think that having a birthday in conjunction with some celebrations was quite cool and was something to show off... yar even on April Fool's day... so i decided to play a prank on my mum 22 years ago and pop out that day in Kuching SGH...

well then, april fool or no april fool, i'm a year older and hopefully a tad wiser.

Fire Drill

is such a chore. They woke me up from my nice cosy little nap and i had to go to some meeting point before some stupid meeting takes place and disperse us. The bell was so loud i thought the sky came down in my sleep.

but they do succeeded this year in surprising me coz i never heard anything about it beforehand and no one said anything. Maybe i didnt check my email. Oh well, back to studies.

Lethargic

It's not really a good thing to do that, because i just dont feel like doing anything. At all. the sheer amount of webcasts that's awaiting doesnt seem very palitable and studying really seems like a chore. Oh well, it's going to be over in 1.5 months time...

I'm just looking forward to weekends. This week is passion week, and i'm most probably going into Malaysia to sing choir during Good Friday.

Studying really is quite sian. i bet working's not much better.

zzz.

Life is Short

Please pray for my grandma.. she's not well.

Special Day :)

And yes it was. Had 2 papers and decided that it's the max that i can go. for now. another paper on friday which requires me to mug through the night. again. oh well, now you know what awaits you when you go to university. they tell you about living life the way you want, free as a bird and free from stress unlike what you are going through now. truth is, that's only possible if you're L.

So i've decided to have a good day today and yeap, thanks to the pretty girl, she really made my day :)

went out to have dinner at her favourite restaurant, and then off to tcc at T3 to have a drink and to chit chat chit chat... haha :) so it's a happy day indeed.

That's her minty choc frappe, which tastes more like chocolate drink with a tinge of mint

And that's my oreooooooooo mocha frappe. For some reason, i'm just addicted to oreooooooos.

Pretty girl actually did cross stitching!!! so she was very excited when she found a similar design on a bookmark in precious thoughts and yeap, here's the very cute picture you see with the angel in prayer :)

Pretty girl herself :)
